Sculpture by the sea

Ssulpture by the sea is an annual spectacular international art exhibition.Last thuesday our class(Amep.B) and (Amep.A) class went on an Excursion to Bondi to see Sculpture by the sea.

We took a train to Bondi junction at 9:16 in the morning. My husband was with me.There was something wrong. 3 of our friends went quickly got on the train but we could not do it, so we missed the train. We went to another platfrom got on the train. We were gossiping and laughing on the train. When we arrived there we saw that Lucy,Pei and May were waiting for us.We took a bus and arrived at Bondi Beach.

We arrived safely, some of our friends were buying hats and some of them were putting sunscreen on their faces.I was enjoying seeing that. After a short walk we arrived at Bondi beach and we started to take photos. But suddenly I found that my camera had no charge.I felt upset and my husband told me not to be upset because he had a good camera for taking photos. So,I smiled and started to take photos. The first thing I was"Alchemy".The artists put steel sheets and mirrors into the rock pools so the rock pools looked they were full of water after the rain.I was so surprished to see that sculpture. The other things that also attartcted me was"eye see you".There were many many sculptures that I liked very much.My own sculpture was no 59"embracing the plateau".So I was looking for it.My husband first found this sculpture and took a photo with me in it.It looked like a pregnant woman. But I didn't understand exactly what that sculpture meant.

We had lunch at Tamarama beach. After finishing lunch I called my teacher told her that I wanted to go because I had finished seeing all sculptures. She said"we could go".

We went to the bus stop. After 15 minutes the bus came and we got on the bus.We arrived in Kogarah at 2.30.We enjoyed that day.It was a great time!

Reaction about Annabel's story

Annabel's story is really a ideal story for me. Because I am also come from other country and my second language is English. If I want to improve my English I can do it. She reminds me that we can do something. I have a dream for my own future,I want to go to university like she and want to make a good career. She has done all of this. So,I think she is a good example for me.

Opinion text about my suburb

I think Kogarah is a good place to live in.When I first came here I lived in Lakemba but I didn't like that place so I moved Kogarah because it is really a nice place to live in.

Firstly,It is very close from the station. There are many many schools in Kogarah and also it has a hospital. The Brighton beach is very close from here.

Secondly,The communication system is very good in here and the sydney airport is very close from here.If anyone wants to go to city she can easyly do it.

Thirdly,It has many sporting facilities and library. There is a one good shopping centre and many other shops such as:Bangladeshi,Indian, chinese and so on.

For all this reasons,I prefer to live in this suburb.I never want to go any other place in sydney.

Physical punishment

Most parents use physical punishment to stop a child from mis-behaving and to make them well-behaved.The immediate effect of punishment may be to stop the misbehaviour but the long term effects is to increase the chances of worse behaviour like:depression, child abuse and other things. In my opinion physical punishment is not good for children.

Firstly, According to psychologists hitting children can be harmful for their development.Reports show that physically abused children are not confident in comparison to other children. If parents hit their children badly on the head.that might cause brain injuries.their IQ might be reduced. Also they can become bullies themselves or they can hit others people.
Secondly, New research shows that physically abusing children when parents are angry can result in serious physical damage. When parents can't control their temper they can be hit their children hardly so it causes injuries, brain damage or death.

Thirdly, It has also been proven that using physical punishment doesn't work with children. They use to this punishment so they don't fear or care about this. They know that it will happen. So the child become more rebellious. The cause of punishment can change their mind and it makes them have a bad relationship in the society.

To end up, The fear of physical punishment can encourage child to lie and cheat to avoid the punishment. That's not good for children. So,I think parents shouldn't use physical punishment. They have to think about their children future.

The Editor
Dear sir
Smoker Joe didn't convince me, because I am totally against his opinion.

Everyone should have Fresh Air and clean enviroment, so no one can have an excuse for their filthy habit.

Smokers don't have the right to annoy other prople. Cigarette smoke is very bad for people who suffered from breathing problems. The tax that you pay from smoking is coming back to you when you have health problems.

Smokers have to respect the others and should smoke at a smoke-free area.

Koala

The Koala is the only member of the phascolarctidae family. The Koala's scientific name"phascolarctos cinereus" means "ash-coloured pouched bear."

Some people refer to the koala as a koala bear.Although it looks like asmall bear, the koala is a marsupial mammal.

Koala's have soft wool like grey fur which is paler on their underside. They have a small tail hidden by their fur.

Koala's are found four states:Queensland,New south wales,Victoria and south Australia.Their habitats range from tall eucalypt forests and low woodlands inland to coastal island trees.

Koala's eat only leaves and bark from eucalyptus trees. There are over 600 types or spices of these trees but koala's only eat the leaves and bark from 12 of them. Each koala eat approximately 12-21 ounces a day.

They are mostly nocturnal. They spend up to 20 hours a day sleeping or resting in trees. The koala's very large nose is one of its most important features. It has a very highly developed sense of smell which helps the animal what eucalyptus leaves are safe to eat.

The breeding season for koala's runs roughly from september to march.Koala's usually produce only a single joey but occationally twins are born. They are born 34 to 36 day after conception.

A recount about Excursion

Last thuesday I went on an Excursion to Featherdale park.I went there from St George college.Almost 37 students and 5 teachers were with me.Before the holiday our teacher said not to come late,if we were late,we would miss the bus.Thats why i got up early in the morning and prepared food for me and my husband.I got dressed and I arrived at tafe so early.Only 1 student was there. Some moments later the teacher came and took some photos of us.

We were waiting for the bus.The bus arrived at 8.45.We got onto the bus.All of the students and teachers looked happy. The bus started to run at 9 o'clock on the dot.A couple of student missed it.We arrived at the Featherdale park about 10 o'clock. The bus driver stopped the bus and parked it.One of our teachers went to buy the ticktes which were free for us.While we were waiting for the ticktes our teacher Rosa gave us a worksheet which included some questions about the excursion. At last the other teacher came back and gave us the ticktes. We got off the bus and entered the park.

The park was not too busy. Some school students were there and they were running everywhere. When we entered the park we were together but some moments later we separeted and looked around in small groups or by ourselves.I took some photos of animals, birds and snakes. When I took those photos I also wrote some information about them. The information was very important for me because I knew that I had to write a report about an animal.Thats why I was so conscious.

On my ticktes I put a stamp of some of the animals I had seen.I liked some birds, such as-The Eclectus parrot,The southern Cassoware,Echidna etc.I took photos of my teachers and classmates. We finished our lunch at 12.30.Some of them brought their own some of them bought from the cafe.

Finally we finished our Excursion and got back on the bus.The bus stared at 1 o'clock and we arrived at tafe at at 2 o'clock.

I have never gone on this type of Excursion in my life.It was really fantastic.I really enjoyed it.We had a great time together!

Comment about a story book borrowed from library

Last night I read a book titled "When Bad Things Happen to Good people". This book was so interesting. After finishing the book, I felt the writer's view was correct. Now I am going to give a brief summary of that book.

Aron was an innocent boy. He was only three years old. His parents were good persons. They tried to do what was right in the eyes of God. They really believed in god and the goodness of the world. One day their son got very sick with a disease called 'Progeria'. How could it be happening to them and to their son if what they believed about the world was true? There is only one question which really matters 'Why do bad things happen to good people?' They happen because god is a righteous judge who gives them exactly what they deserve. That's karma.
