Harmony day
Harmony Day is celebrated on 21 March each year.
Managed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), Harmony Day celebrates the cohesive and inclusive nature of our nation and promotes the benefits of cultural diversity.
DIAC supports a range of community events and activities held to celebrate Harmony Day by providing free promotional products.
The continuing message of Harmony Day is ‘Everyone Belongs’. It's about community participation, inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
The 2010 theme is ‘Express Yourself’. This gives you the opportunity to share with others the importance of diversity in your workplace, school and community through action, performance, fashion and food.
Since Harmony Day began in 1999 thousands of schools, community groups and organisations across Australia have hosted Harmony Day events.
There is no limit to the range of activities that can be held for Harmony Day and we encourage schools, community groups, local government and businesses to get involved and actively support this day of celebration.

Library Conversation with Ms. Patricia
Any currently enrolled TAFE student can borrow any items from the library by using their TAFE card. To join the library students need to have their current TAFE card. A student can borrow six (6) print items such as books, magazines etc at a time for two (2) weeks. They can also borrow four (4) audio-visual items, which include CDs, DVDs and audio-cassettes which is one (1) week .
If any student need their items to keep for a longer time than usual then they need to renew their items, which can be done over the phone. A student can renew their items twice and every time they can extend for 2 weeks. Students can hold or reserve a book over the phone if the book is available in the library. Students can access the library catalogue from home by using the Internet to search their items. If a student needs to return their items after library hours which is 08:00 – 09:00 then there is chute located inside the library building but there is no chute outside the building so students must return their item either during the library hours or the allocated after hours time. Normally the library opens at 09:00 am every weekday.
Students can also get printing facilities from the library by using their TAFE card. They need to have some money loaded on their TAFE card. The cost of A4 black & white print is 20c per page but if the student were a member of student association then the printing cost would be half which is 10c. To join the student association, the cost is A$ 20 per year. By joining the student association, students can get lots of facilities such as cheap parking, movie tickets etc. The library also provide some free other services such as assisting for preparing an assignment, finding information and books etc. Even if the library does not have the particular book then they bring that book from other library. The library also has lots of resources to support ESL students such as books, exercise books and audio tapes, story books with audio tapes, dictionaries in the reference collection and ESL student can borrow those items for two (2) weeks.

Sculpture by the sea
We took a train to Bondi junction at 9:16 in the morning. My husband was with me.There was something wrong. 3 of our friends went quickly got on the train but we could not do it, so we missed the train. We went to another platfrom got on the train. We were gossiping and laughing on the train. When we arrived there we saw that Lucy,Pei and May were waiting for us.We took a bus and arrived at Bondi Beach.
We arrived safely, some of our friends were buying hats and some of them were putting sunscreen on their faces.I was enjoying seeing that. After a short walk we arrived at Bondi beach and we started to take photos. But suddenly I found that my camera had no charge.I felt upset and my husband told me not to be upset because he had a good camera for taking photos. So,I smiled and started to take photos. The first thing I was"Alchemy".The artists put steel sheets and mirrors into the rock pools so the rock pools looked they were full of water after the rain.I was so surprished to see that sculpture. The other things that also attartcted me was"eye see you".There were many many sculptures that I liked very much.My own sculpture was no 59"embracing the plateau".So I was looking for it.My husband first found this sculpture and took a photo with me in it.It looked like a pregnant woman. But I didn't understand exactly what that sculpture meant.
We had lunch at Tamarama beach. After finishing lunch I called my teacher told her that I wanted to go because I had finished seeing all sculptures. She said"we could go".
We went to the bus stop. After 15 minutes the bus came and we got on the bus.We arrived in Kogarah at 2.30.We enjoyed that day.It was a great time!
